Lossy Transmission Line Macromodeling based on Optimal Matrix Rational Approximations - Three Case studies

The rapid increase in operating speed, density, and complexity of modern integrated circuits has made interconnect analysis a requirement of all state-of-the-art circuit simulators. Recently, a passive, closed-form, optimal matrix rational approximation algorithm has been developed for the macromodeling of lossy, multiconductor transmission lines. This paper presents three case studied for the passive, optimal, rational approximation algorithm and provides the performance comparison with the conventional lumped discretization.
