Risk Management of Individuals

Individuals often manage their personal risks unsystematically and incompletely. Although plenty of support is available through human consultants or the World Wide Web, such assistance is restricted to singular risk management approaches that do not necessarily fit customers’ needs. If a system existed that integrates all approaches to personal risk management, most people’s preferences could be matched. More people would deal with their risks in a systematic way and therefore improve the effectiveness of their portfolio of security measures as well as their personal feeling of security. This paper provides an overview of different approaches and proposes an integration model to simplify the development and usage of tools that support personal risk management.
