Using Interception to Create Domains in Distributed Systems

This paper presents a model of management in distributed systems which enables the management of inter-domain interaction, an area which is becoming of paramount importance as the complexity of distributed systems increases and the business which they support change ever more quickly.
Interception techniques and gateways are used to show how domain boundaries can be erected and maintained in such a way that the dynamic creation of new links across these boundaries can be managed. Finally, some implementation issues concerning domain boundaries are discussed.
