This paper describes a method for computing the renewal function accurately without requiring much computation. Our method uses a combination of Pade approximants to evaluate the renewal function near the origin and switches to the asymptotic values farther from the origin. We have developed a polynomial switchover function in terms of the coefficient of variationn of the distribution which allows us to determine a priori if asymptotic value can be used instead of computing the Pade approximant.
