Spin-Reorientation in YbFeO3

Precise measurements of YbFeO3 magnetization in the spin-reoirentation temperature interval are performed. It is shown that ytterbium orthoferrite is well described by a modified mean field theory developed for ErFeO3. This supports earlier conjectures about the importance of the rare earth ion's paramagnetism and it's anisotropy in all orthoferrites exhibiting orientation phase transitions.
