Challenges in Forecasting and Planning in a Large Corporation

        In this presentation the challenges that remain in forecasting and business planning in a large global manufacturing environment are presented. There are forecasting methodological challenges as well as organizational challenges. Recent advances in forecasting methodology that address some of these challenges are cited. Finally, the requirements placed on forecasting that will support a proactive planning environment and the potential of some emerging technologies to support these requirements are briefly discussed.
