Why Chosen Ciphertext Security Matters

        This article motivates the importance of public-key cryptosystems that are secure against chosen ciphertext attack, and of rigourous security proofs. It also discusses the new cryptosystem develped by Cramer and Shoup, and its relevance in this regard.
