During the past decade, a variety of highly pragmatic applications
have been developed based on wavelet theory. Evidence of the impact
of this trend on industry is the increase in patents based on wavelet
technologies that have been filed in the United States. We
examine numerical counts of annual patent filings and
some noteworthy practical applications.
