Automatic Generation of Java Stubs for ASN.1

This paper describes the Snacc for Java project, aiming at developing an ASN.1 stub compiler for Java, a tool which generates Java stub classes for ASN.1 data type definitions. The paper illustrates the basic object model implemented by the generated Java code. The Java stub classes are based on an ASN.1 run-time system which provides the basic encoding/decoding functionality for different ASN.1 encoding rules. The structure and the properties of generated Java classes are described in detail.
