Computer oriented EM programs play an important part in the EMC design of modern electronic equipment. The hardware to be modeled is becoming more complex and the frequency ranges of interest are continuously increasing. This increase in the frequencies involved makes the design of such equipment more difficult. Circuit oriented computer techniques and programs are gaining popularity since they lead to more useful and understandable solutions and techniques. In this paper we summarize the recent progress in circuit oriented techniques for the Electro Magnetic Modeling (EMM) of electronic equipment and VLSI circuitry. Both differential and integral equation based models are examined as they pertain to this session on circuit oriented EM modeling.
