High bandwidth board-level parallel optical interconnects for server applications

Optical waveguides embedded in a printed circuit board offer a substantial increase in the achievable bandwidth density compared with todays electrical interconnects. Specific challenges and solutions to integrate optical interconnects in a printed circuit board are addressed.
