Screen Reader/2 makes OS/2 talk. It makes OS/2 talk whether you are running DOS, Windows, or OS/2 applications. Screen Reader/2 makes OS/2 talk so that blind computer users can have access to OS/2. However, Screen Reader/2 is more than an access system. It provides a programming language to produce speech and non-speech audio from OS/2. Everything that Screen Reader/2 does for its blind user, it does under the control of profile code written in the Profile Access Language, PAL. It is the purpose of this paper to introduce the idea of PAL as a tool for adding audio in the interface.
